After having finished the meeting near Torino, we had the rest of the day off, so we decided to visit the lakes of Avigliana. While these glacial lakes are nice, we drove further to the Sacra of San Michele..
The Sacra of
San Michele is certainly something you wouldn't want to miss if you're ever in that area (south-west of Turin, or maybe even in Turin). It's a monastary that took about 4 centuries to be built (from the 10th to the 14th century) and it really dominates everything around it. The view from up there (close to 1000m - most of it straight down) is spectacular.
